Dreaming of a Grand Entrance
This overlaps 2 challenges and I hope you do not mind.
Picture this (but go back in history and disregard any modern spectators).
You have been invited to a very grand ball given by the king and queen of France.
You have this magnificent dress and your wig is powdered. A coach and a handsome chaperone is waiting for you. You are going to be the beautiful belle of the bail that’s for sure.

Opportunities like that are sadly lacking these days. I miss the the full formal dress ballroom affairs which still survived in my youth.

I’ll bet you looked very dashing too, Col.

Jul 15, 2012 @ 06:25:32
Not very good shots- there were too many people but I can imagine swirling around and looking at those
Jul 14, 2012 @ 19:09:58

La Fête Nationale
Jul 15, 2012 @ 06:26:46

beautiful chandeliers. so wish I could have a chance to go to the ball in my finery
Jul 16, 2012 @ 05:38:42
Yes and exit with head still in place
Jul 16, 2012 @ 06:10:10
The setting is perfect! As long as the revolutionaries stay FAR away!
Jul 16, 2012 @ 06:15:31
Absolutely
Jul 16, 2012 @ 10:57:24
On the other hand – the setting is perfect and the ball is, um, a ball! The band is playing, the crowd dancing and enjoying the mood. In comes the starving peasants and the take you away to cut off your head – all of that because you are snazzily dressed and told them to eat cake? I mean really, quite rude of them! Hope my wig doesn’t fall off – you know how crude those peasants can be and it’s not a good hair day either, lol.
Jul 16, 2012 @ 18:15:59
I would still probably have tripped over my own feet as I walked in ;-(
Jul 17, 2012 @ 05:23:27
Well that would have been a grand entrance of sorts indeed, but remember we were taught how to walk, how to sit…all that stuff
Jul 17, 2012 @ 05:57:23
That didn’t all ‘take’ too well. Feet and me have this interesting relationship.
Jul 17, 2012 @ 06:17:07
I don’t really believe you
