I believe it is very sad?
Saw Jean Val Jean many years ago and I still remember hoe terribly upset I was

Yes, sad, however I loved it. It is more like a stage play… The actors ‘sing’ their lines (for the most part). It took me about half an hour to get used to that; then I just went along for the ride… It’s a long movie and yet I was okay with that… Usually I get a bit fidgety in a long movie, but not this one… I guess that says a lot…!

It does!
Maybe I should wait for it to come to TV. I saw various other movies of Les Miserables but never a musical so it does sound strange. I did not know these actors could even sing.
Thanks

Then you will be surprised..
Anne Hathaway’s performance (well, I don’t mean to presume that you’ll like it) was for me, quite wonderful. I know she can act; heck, she can act any genre. However, I didn’t know she could sing too. Hugh Jackman can sing; he was the lead as Peter Allen in the Broadway show..’The Boy from Oz’… All of the singing is ‘live’ so some of it is a little questionable. I forgave Hugh a few ‘rough notes’ because his performance was so good… I’ll have to stop raving about it; you may expect too much.. lol..
Anyway, yes, wait for it to come to TV, then hopefully enjoy it…!

I must say I am prejudiced against abridged versions. I always feel that if I don’t want to live ine story as written, I may as well read a precis.
My blog, by the way, has a condensed version of just over 100 words in verse which I giving the story of War and Peace.
