Weekly Photo Challenge - Urban
The Urban electrical and telephone lines can spoil the beauty.
Aug 25, 2012 @ 09:08:53
It`s all down to money, it`s more expensive to put them underground. rural areas are more at risk as homesteads are far apart. i find it quite bad here and we are only 10 km out of town. sometimes you can`t get them out with Photoshop. 🙂
Aug 25, 2012 @ 09:30:21
I know but it is so stupid not to put cables underground because they steal the copper anyway and in the end…. you know the story.
Frustrating and ugly
Aug 25, 2012 @ 09:13:42
I agree, but we just have to live with them. 😦
Aug 25, 2012 @ 09:31:45
It would help if they put it underground….
but no they rather do it over and over. And spoil the beauty.
Hope you are well.

Excellent photo, but I have to disagree, NOTHING can spoil that beauty. There is beauty in imperfection as well. The contrast of it enhances something.
Aug 25, 2012 @ 10:39:25
Thank you, agt one stage I thought of using Photoshop
Aug 25, 2012 @ 10:05:13
Lovely village! 🙂
Aug 25, 2012 @ 10:42:56
It is a tiny little village in the Cape nestled in the mountain and it is called genadendal which means valley of mercy (I think).
It is mostly a coloured community which lives there but it is full of charm.

so much more disruption when there is a fault
Aug 25, 2012 @ 15:12:03
Escom admits it would be more economic in the long run. They started in our suburb but they have far to go (not that they seem to be doing anything at present)
Aug 26, 2012 @ 05:33:49
I wish they would bury them. Im on a spruit and the pylons march along all in view
Aug 26, 2012 @ 11:36:03
Unfortunatly those are there to stay.
Wow, You know we even may be neighbours because we also live along the Spruit
Hi there *wave*

ah yes, I’ve thought that myself many a time as I try to angle the lens to get the power lines out of the shot… gorgeous shot, nevertheless.
Aug 27, 2012 @ 05:44:47
Thank you. Not easy to get these lines out unless one cheats with Photoshop.
Aug 27, 2012 @ 07:24:05
they might be in the way but that picture is still gorgeous! looks very peaceful and tranquil.
Aug 28, 2012 @ 05:46:46

What a beautiful looking place… 😉
Sep 07, 2012 @ 05:49:59
very charming indeed
Sep 08, 2012 @ 15:24:13
I hadn’t even noticed the lines until I read the first comments. I was so taken with the beauty of the scene that the lines blended in.
Sep 09, 2012 @ 06:20:01
At one stage I considered Photoshop but then I realized I am looking for beauty not perfection
