Make your own dog treats. Much healthier and I asked my dogs , they say ‘Yummy give me more, more, more”.
2.5 cups oats or whole meal or mixture. (Oats has more protein.)
Half a cup of hot beef stock
One beaten egg
Then you can add whatever for taste, pieces of cooked meat, leftovers, I add about 3 tablespoons of peanut butter.
Mix and roll out and cit.
I do not use a dog bone form because my dogs could not care less what form it comes in I promise you.
Bake 30 minutes @ 350 degrees or 180 Celsius.

I bought a book about making your own dog food/treats from some American sanctuary—and—I never made a thing. Maybe your recipe will inspire me to finally have a go. Little Dog particularly likes treats and barks for them if he thinks it’s time for one 😦

They are so quick and easy to make. Takes less than 10 minutes to assemble mix and roll out. Now i will always have some in the cupboard and can cross it off my shopping list 😊

Hierdie het ek self aangeproe, not bad at all! En my honde is mal daaroor.

We are going to start to wean our dogs off shop bought dog food ( biscuits and tin ”meat”) and make our own. The cost is much of a muchness.
Might have a go at this too.

I know the so called tinned meat is no good. My husband visited a factory once and he was a bit disgusted. These biscuits are a winner, I should actually when I add the egg crush the shell for some extra calcium. I do give our dogs chick necks sometimes but I have been cooking it. I suppose raw would be better?

I never know if raw meat is better? Dogs are pretty much omnivorous leaning toward carnivorous.
I’ll let you know how things go with our dogs when we are up and running in the home-made dog food production!

I don’t know about the raw because of the micro count so I would rather cook themeat – it can so easily spread to our food and we don;t have a dog’s constitution. Yes let me know

I agree. We plan to cook everything.
We already have our first batch of meat in for the doges and we’ll prepare a few days supply at a time.
We bought good stuff that we could eat, not ‘dog meat’ as labelled by the butcher. We tried this one time and when Celeste began cooking it we all nearly gagged, it was revolting.
It is surprising that the cost is much if a muchness.
It is amazing what we are prepared to pay for convenience!

I am not so brave because I have young and senior dogs and I know their dietary requirements differ.

I am sure. If you can crush the egg shell for some extra calcium. I only use oats and no wheat.
Nice to see you have a great 2015!

There is better stuff in there than shop bought dog bicuits, so any dog should be happy to eat it whatever shape it comes in.

Exactly, they do not care at all! No artificial anything in these biscuits

The problem I find with biscuits from the shop is that they only have added flavor and not fish or meat, and our feral just eats and eats. Making them to your recipe she eats about half the amount, i did however put some peanut butter in there 🙂
